(WCASS) will hold an awards celebration to recognize four staff members and one student from the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District.

West Milwaukee Intermediate School is proud to have one of the winners on our staff!

Region #1 Award Recipient for Special Education Paraprofessional of the Year:  Joanne Johnson.

"Contributions include strategically facilitating students' academic growth, independence, emotional regulation, and social skill development, while maintaining high expectations for all; building relationships with students, both in and outside of the workday, to ensure success and keep youth connected to the school community; demonstrating leadership by embracing the opportunity to work with the most complex and unique learners to promote their growth and development; and collaborating with teachers to set up classrooms and learning environments that promote functional and academic growth for students."
